SPAIN ACADEMICS
The Burgos International Music Festival, founded in 2009, brings together prominent musicians, faculty, and students from around the world. The 10-day festival provides intermediate and advanced students in piano, strings, winds, and vocals with the highest level of professional training in individual and ensemble performance. Students have ample opportunity to perform solo work as well as chamber music in a variety of venues, including the Burgos Cathedral.
The program is organized under the International Knowledge Center (IKC), a partnership between KEI, Escuela de Espanol (EDE), and Summit Music Festival, organizers of the Burgos International Music Festival. Students will be enrolled in the Applied Music Performance & Collaboration course for 3 credits.
Students interested in spending more time in Burgos may participate in the Summer Session or the Summer Term program offered by KEI prior to the Music Festival. The Summer Session consists of two courses – Spanish Culture & Society (3 credits) and Spanish Language (3 credits). The Summer Term combines the two courses with an Internship (3-6 credits). A $500 Consecutive Term Grant will be applied toward the program fee.
